Educational Qualification

3rd year or higher of B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Sc Research/M.Sc/MCA, OR completed qualifying degree. All streams including Science, Humanities & Social Science, and Architecture are covered.

No. There is absolutely no age limit to appear for GATE. Whether you are 21 or 45, you are eligible as long as you meet the educational qualification criteria.

From GATE 2021 onwards, candidates can appear in up to two papers (subjects) in the same exam, subject to the constraint that both papers are from the allowed two-paper combinations listed by the conducting IIT.

Yes. Many prominent PSUs use GATE scores for direct recruitment into executive/officer positions. These include BHEL, ONGC, IOCL, NTPC, GAIL, BPCL, HAL, BSNL, and many others. Each PSU specifies its own minimum GATE score cutoff and age limits.
