Educational Qualification
3rd year or higher of B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Sc Research/M.Sc/MCA, OR completed qualifying degree. All streams including Science, Humanities & Social Science, and Architecture are covered.

Special / Additional Relaxations
- No category-based age relaxation — GATE itself has no age restriction at all.
- GATE score is valid for 3 years from the date of results announcement.
- Candidates can appear in up to 2 papers (subjects) in the same exam session.

- While GATE has no age limit, PSUs using GATE scores for recruitment impose their own age caps (typically 26–28 years for General).
- M.Tech admission through GATE: most IITs and NITs have no age limit for PG admissions.
