Special / Additional Relaxations

Widows, Divorced women and women judicially separated who are not remarried: up to 35 years (General), 38 years (OBC), and 40 years (SC/ST).
Central Government Civilian Employees: up to 40 years (45 years for SC/ST) for Group C posts.

Important Notes

Session I (Maths & Reasoning) is qualifying; final merit is based entirely on Session II (General Awareness & English).
Havaldar applicants must undergo walking physical tests: Males 1600m in 15 min, Females 1km in 20 min.

Common queries regarding SSC MTS age limits, cutoff date, and attempts.

There are two age groups: 18-25 years (for most MTS posts) and 18-27 years (for Havaldar in CBIC/CBN and a few MTS posts). Relaxations apply: 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST.

Candidates must have passed Matriculation (Class 10) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board before the cutoff date.

For MTS posts, there is no physical test. However, for Havaldar posts in CBIC & CBN, candidates must clear physical standards and physical efficiency tests (walking and cycling/physical activity).

There is no limit on the number of attempts. You can appear every year as long as you meet the age and educational criteria.

The age cutoff date is typically August 1st of the calendar year in which the recruitment notification is published.
